Wisconsin != Midwest

So I got in a heated argument once about this. Wisconsin is NOT FREAKING a midwest state! If anything its northern. More acurately its Northeastern, or middle northern. Are Wisconsinites crazier than their accents and Packer lovin' cheese heads let on?

Learn your geography! Anything left of Washington DC is considered west. DC is our captial for a reason.

USGS can suck it. Any fool with half a brain and a map of the US can clearly see its not in the mid western regions.

Say what you will, I will never claim WI as midwestern. Hell I live in Missouri and find our staus as midwestern questionable. Mid maybe but not western.

No, you're southern. Wisconsin is midwestern.

Fine we'll just call you the middle east. OMG A TERRORIST!!! 😛

WI is Midwest to me. I would consider "Middle Northern" as most of the Midwest.

I suppose if you wanted to be really anal you could make a case for it being in a northeast quadrant (if you draw lines through the exact middle of the lower 48 going W-E and N-S), but culturally it's definitely not part of the Northeast.

Yeah, it's midwest.

Northeast is New England, New York...maybe Pennsylvania and Jersey and the middle north doesn't exist

[Edit] Even dictionary.com says so 😛<=

That's cute and all, but the boundary is only tertiarily related to geography, there are also cultural and historical reasons.

Northeast!!!!??!? no...

The farthest south "Northeast" goes is MD (it is the "LINE STATE") and farthest west might be eastern PA (I guess you can consider all of PA)

If WI is Northeastern, then so is Illinois. But that's not true at all.

All of PA definitely, I'd call ohio the border state, though the border is probably right near PA

Whoa whoa whoa, crazy accents I think not. It only gets crazy when you go up near the UP. Most of Wisconsin does not speak like Bobby's mom from Bobby's world.

And yes, we're part of the midwest. 🙂

Edit: And football blows, too.

midwest has nothing to do with north/south. The reason states like Texas aren't "midwest" is because they take their southern-ness so seriously.there is no "north" as far as describing areas of the country goes - there's east, south, midwest, and west.

Forgive me if I choose to believe the USGS says over you. 😀
