Wisconsin man couldn't get enough fish

http://www.mequonnow.com/news/151401355.html#!page=1&pageSize=10&sort=newestfirst

A 53-year-old Mequon man was arrested for disorderly conduct after being told the Thiensville restaurant at which he was dining ran out of fish for its all-you-can-eat fish fry last week.

According to the police report:

The man had already consumed 12 pieces of fish around 7:40 p.m. Friday when informed the restaurant had run out and could not substitute any other fish.

The man then refused to pay his bill. After the restaurant gave him eight more pieces of fish to go, he paid his bill.

The man returned to the restaurant in the 400 block of North Main Street on Sunday with a picket sign protesting what he said were the restaurant's poor business practices.

lol sounds like a real winner. And of course it's Wisconsin.

what a loser. this guy in the comments section is 100% correct. chucks place should break out the ban stick.

What a fat idiot. 20 pieces of fish for $10-$12? Chuck's Place should do the right thing and refuse service to him altogether. They're running a for-profit business, not a food trough for this lazy pos 10,000 calorie diet.

Reading your quoted piece, it sounds like he has a point. "All you can eat" means all you can eat AFAIC. They ran out of fish, yet were able to procure more to get him out of the restaurant? Sounds like bullshit to me.

He's reporting the incident to Yelp as we speak.

hmm he has a point. he ordered all you can eat. they couldn't do that.

he has a right to protest. while i think he is a idiot he has that right.

I wonder if the restaurant was ran by ATT?

"You can get unlimited fish, but after 2.5 pieces of fish, we will slow down the amount of fish you receive. After 5 pieces of fish, you will be cut off."

I can't imagine him protesting for long though.
I mean, you can work up a sweat just by standing there.

Think he put his sign down, went back in, and ordered some more fish?

Ahhh, my homestate of Wisconsin. How I missed thee.
When I lived there I worked at a KFC that also made fish on Fridays. Every Friday night a man would call up and order 3lbs of fried haddock, one of those large boxes of fries you used to get and a 2ltr of diet soda for delivery. And yes, when I got there he was just like the guy in the picture above.

While I think the guy is probably a disgusting blob of uselessness to society, I do get irritated when businesses cannot come through on their end. Regardless of whether they are a "for-profit" restaurant, you want money, do what you say. If you run out, give the guy a discount and move on. You failed to produce what you advertised, so it is your bad, fix it.

I highly doubt his picket attempt will do anything anyway.

exactly!

most times All you can eat type things are a ripoff (unless you a fatty like him).

though this reminded me. we went out to a local resturant we go to often (it's 10 minutes away. next one is 25 minutes) its really good. My ex-wifes little sister worked there before she went to college. so we would go often.

Friday's they have all you can eat chicken and fish. one week i got the chicken and got 2 breast and some mashed potatoes. i was stuffed! the owner came over and asked if i wanted more. i said nope im full. he was like you sure? you only had 2!

before we left he came out with a box of 4 more breast for me to take home. he said i paid $8 i should get my $8 worth! lol

That was pretty cool of him, cause he didn't have to do that. The way they make their money is on people who don't eat the $X worth. And I have no problem with that business model, cause you know what you are ordering.

Cable internet or phone? Either way those kind of companies pay off politicians, so they don't have to follow the same rules.

I do my best to avoid any "all you can eat" situations...

Somehow the sight of 350 pound gluttons thundering to the serving table to see who can get the "most" ... lacks appeal for me.

A few years ago, we had a pair of Houston Lawyers sue an Asian Restaurant because they wouldn't reserve their favourite table for them ... (The restaurant didn't reserve table for anyone...)

People like this are all about everything for them and screw everyone else...

No sympathy from me. Arrest him! Throw him in jail!

Perhaps he'll like the food there...

How rude! Douglas Adams knew how to properly reply when being ushered out of an all you can eat seafood restaurant! 😀

Wait...what? They sued them for reserving them a table when they wouldn't do it for anyone else....?

Agreed - if you advertise All You Can Eat it better be all someone can eat (in a reasonable amount of time) not 'Hes had enough so we convienetly don't have more until he threatens to not pay his bill'

Maybe "all you can eat" means it's all good until they come over to your table and say, "OK, man, I'm here to let you know that's all you can eat."

sue for false advertising

interested to know how large the fish portions are. the dude is 6 ft 6 in, 350 lbs.
