Just out of school and got a job developing software, eh? Without you giving away too much, how much did this job you took pay? The trend I have noticed lately is companies ARE now starting to hire for IT jobs again in earnest. Only problem is, anyone with more than 5 years experience are treated like leppers (sp?). They are hiring kids out of school so they can pay them $40K a year to replace the guy they just let go last week who was making $75K. Just shifting the jobs around, not much in new job creation.

Shhhhhhh, don't ruin it and stop him from posting. It's so funny and hysterical. It's what keeps P&N from being dull, boring and drab, sometimes could even qualify for being re-named the "Funniest Forum on the Internet" thanks to some of these folks. :D:thumbsup::cool::beer:

Well no kidding there are more people in the state, and jobs are being created to join them. Would it be better if there were LESS jobs 10 years ago than there is now? Actually, you would be happy about that, because then you could beat your democratic talking point drum on job creation.. I know it disapoints you ever day that people find work, because it just makes YOU look silly when you keep saying the economy stinks.

I never said the "Economy stinks".

I said the Economy is great for the Elitists at the top and getting better everyday for them while eliminating the middle and making the bottom the majority, big difference.

I also said I don't call that progress, we can do better, we are supposed to be better but no you're right, we should just be like any other dictatorship Country and pander to the rich while enslaving the masses.

Way to go Pharoahs.

I guess my wife and I making middle class money then are the elite.. And everyone in my neighborhood with their $150,000 homes are elite too.. because we all seem to agree the economy is doing pretty damn good.

You statements are so absurd it almost hurts me to respond. I can safely say, that NEARLY EVERYONE in my family, my circle of friends, my co-workers, etc.. are better off now than they were 20 years ago. Without a doubt. My mother has a much better job than she did back then, my aunts, uncles, brothers, etc.. all have much better jobs than they had back in the 80's. One of my uncles who was a factory worker layed off in the 80's is now making twice what he did in the factory.. If the factory job had not laid him off, he would still be making his union mandated lower wage.

I can't think of anyone in my family who has not significantly improved their financial standing in that time period. And I come from a very long line of blue collar union workers (Most of whom now are no longer in the unions, and are making more money.. how does that happen?!)

So, while you like to spout lines like 'The middle class is dying'.. at least in my part of the world, its simply not happening. The middle class is getting richer.. without a doubt. And like I said, I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, and neither is any person in my family. However, we are all working hard and earning more money than we ever have. The middle class is dying is nothing but a farce.

Around the World, Markets Are the Dullest in Years. Is That Good News?
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/16/business/16norris.html
The Standard & Poor's 500 has gone nowhere. It is down about half a percent since the end of 2003, with the year's high, of 1,163.23 on March 5, only 8.1 percent higher than the low of 1,076.32, reached May 12. The range is the smallest for the start of a year since 1993.

And the United States is far from alone. In France, the first six months saw a range of 9.6 percent in the CAC 40, the smallest swing since that index was reconstituted in 1987. In Germany, the year got off to the most boring start since 1990 for the DAX index, with a range of 13.1 percent. In Britain, the FTSE All Shares index has shown a range of 6.5 percent, the smallest since 1982.

In Japan, long the leader in stock market volatility, the Nikkei 225 is up 6.9 percent this year, the best of any major market. The range of 18.4 percent is larger than in other markets but is Japan's smallest since 1996.

Oh come, doesn't the left always say the only people who own stock are the rich? So wouldn't that mean that the rich are getting poorer?

Besides, what does the stock market market performance over the past 7 months have to do with the 'destruction' of the middle class? Nothing. Whats the stock market performance been since 1982? That might be interesting..
