I have an old 14 inch CTX monitor that a pin broke off on. The wire goes to the inside of the monitor...its not the type that has the connector on both sides. The connector is all potted so you can't repair it. I got a new D-sub connector at radio shack but I don't know which wires to soldier onto which pin. Does anyone know? Its SVGA there are 8 wires 3 thick ones gray, blue, and red then 5 thin ones black, brown, yellow, green, and orange.

If the cable is hard wired to the monitor there is no standard that I know of. Each manufacturer wires it their own way. Most TV repair shops should be able to fix this for you at a minimal charge.

Good Luck

I got it. I had another CTX monitor and it had the same cable so I figured it out from that.
