If your walls are still open, then I advise running extra wires for sure🙂

Yup, there will be plenty!
I'm going to have 2 jacks at each box (and I've been generous with the boxes) and probably another piece hanging behind some of the key boxes, unterminated.

ergeorge, I totally agree with your philosophy. What I was pointing out was that you need to be careful, or you might be getting taken for a ride. Spending $60 more to get a lot better cable while the walls are open is a good idea. Spending $60 more to get the same cable with different marketing is $60 wasted.

Na .. it's probably decent stuff. It's certified as 568B, which is a fairly new (recently ratified) spec (not to be confused with the 568B pair-ordering for cable termination).

Good Luck

Also, SmartHome is a good place to look for home automation and wiring. Further, I recommend visiting comp.home.automation via usenet. I frequent those forums, and there is quite a bit of information to be found there.

I have a ton of links in my favorites composed of only home automation and wiring links. If you'd like them, just send me a PM or contact me via AIM:shrinercomp.
