Question Wireless won't connect to my network storage.

I have 2 laptops one running Win7 and another running Win10. Both connect ok when a network cable is plugged in but will not connect to my network storage over the wireless connection. They connect to the internet fine over the wireless connection.

Sounds like the wireless network may be a different subnet. What IP address do you get when you connect both wired and wirelessly?

That wasn't it but when I was looking I figured out the problem. I have 2 wireless networks, one from my router and one from my modem so I can give people wifi without letting them have access to my network. I had inadvertently connected to my modem wifi.

Good, so you fixed the issue. Are both wireless networks have the same SSID?

If you ever face problems with wireless connection, I suggest you check the status of WLAN Autoconfig service.

What is WLAN Autoconfig Service?

By restarting this wireless service, you can fix most of the WiFi connection issues.

How to Start WLAN Autoconfig wireless service from CMD?
