I am wondering if I can mount a usb webcam to away from my computer and wirelessly transfer the data to it. Is this possible? Can I use a battery or wall plug to supply the power that the camera would receive otherwise?

It plus into the wall with a standard AC transformer plug, included with the webcam. You buy it, plug it into the wall, and it sends the images over wifi to your PC.

Ohh wow, thanks, it looks a bit pricey, but I think I might have to get it. From the reviews, the wireless webcam above doesn't have the abilities I need, such as night vision and so on.

Your two options are.

Get an Ethernet ready device like the one linked to you above.

Or find an expensive device that can do Hocus Pocus like the "pricy" device, there is No other Magic.

You are better of with Ethernet ready camera.

You are much better off getting a new camera that is Network Wireless ready.

Ohh do you know of any? I am slightly reluctant to get the above camera because one of the reviewers listed it's poor quality in low light situations. But so far it is the only one I have found, so I think I will try it.
