I recently had to move my computer to a only acessable by wireless location for a few days. I need the internet to work but I can't seem to make it work. I've tried two differetn adapters (Bufflo Technology WLI-USB2-G54 and Netgear Ma101). I checked to make sure Wireless Zero Service is enabled. It is a strange problem, I have all the newest drivers.

I'm running XP pro and I have a Chaintech VNf4 Ultra mobo AMD 64 3000+, 1gig ram KVR

The bufflo shows the correct wireless strenth but it won't connect. The survey shows the network is there, but when I try and connect it says can't find network...or it says interfearance. I do not have any other 2.4 ghz hardware in the house.

The Netgear is stranger, it shows my network at full strength though it should be at minimal strength....however this too does not conect.

I have tried both Windows wireless configuration and the programs that come with the adapters.

Help pls ? :)

edit: should of made it clear my bro's laptop conects fine here

My quess is settings (encryption and/or authentication).

I would turn all encryption and authentication off and test again to see if that is the issue. Also, with wireless USB and a desktop, get a USB extender cable so you can find optimal placement for SNR
