Hi, I have a wireless network setup in my house. There are currently 2 computers that use the wireless network, one is a laptop and the other is a desktop. Both are new and fast P4 computers. The laptop uses a Network Everywhere PC card wifi adapter and the desktop uses a Linksys Wireless USB wifi adapter. The internet on the desktop with teh USB wifi adapter is really slow. I get download speeds of less than 10kb/s. The laptop with the PC wifi card gives me normal speeds. Are USB wifi adapters usually slow?

No, not in my experience. Have you tried using it about 3-5 ft away from the router ? Also, how far away is the USB adapter ?

-------> No, but what I did was take the laptop with the PC card to the desktop which is using the USB wifi. I downloaded a same file to see the download speed. Download speed on the USB was around 9 kb/s, while on the laptop with the PC card, it was around 170 kb/s.

Also, I tried the USB adapter ion the laptop. It also downloaded the same file at around 10 kb/s with the USB wifi adapter.

Any suggestions?
