I can't for the life of me get a wireless connection from computer A to computer B (my computer) working. I'm on computer A now. The problem started (was working fine before) when I put a bunch of new parts in my computer and had to reinstall a lot of things, something threw off my wireless connection somehow. Been working on it for about an hour and not having any luck. Neither in Vista or in XP. It detected it a lot but couldn't couldn't connect to it for one reason or another. I'm not very good when it comes to router/wireless stuff. My brother's computer is receiving the wireless signal from computer A just fine. And as I said my wireless connection was working perfectly before my computer died and I had to replace a bunch of parts. Also noticed when I try to save something in the Router options, it just takes me to a "this page could not be found page" but I don't know why that would show up in the router settings menu, since none of it is online.

Blah, sorry it's so confusing. I'm tired and need to sleep. Hope someone can help. Also hope it works when I wake up for no apparent reason.

Thanks.

It detected the wireless connection for a while, off an on, with full signal strength, but for one reason or another wouldn't let me connect. It would start connecting to it and about 10 seconds later said it can't find it and "might have been moved out of range".

Also I find it weird that it's called "Wireless connection 6" when there's no other network connections set up.

Every time you install re-install a tcp/ip socket the number increases, it is an Id number it does not mean that there is other 5 connections.

If you have a good signal and it does not connect it might be security mismatch.

As a first step try to temp. disable the security in the Wireless Router. Enable it after you establish a good connection.

No matter what I do it keep trying to connect then fails and says it might of been moved out of range. Even if all the security is off. The router is acting strange though, so I guess I'll reset it.

Also, computer A and computer C are still getting wireless internet just fine, it just won't let me on for any reason.

my pos netgear router will drop pc's from time to time, just have to reset the modem. renewing the ip doesn't help, haven't found out why but thats my best guess. if it doesn't work, attempt to disable to network connection through 'network connections' it may be an issue with the PC rather than the router. If all else fails uninstall the drivers see if that helps. Also, if your network card has a connection utility I would suggest uninstalling it and using windows - just start the "zero point wireless" service, it could be some other order I dont remember off hand and don't have a wireless card on this pc.

It just started working for no reason an hour or so after I reset the router *shrug*. But it's working so I'm happy, thanks.

edit: Internet is working but it's damn slow. Getting 300 ping at best at most gaming servers.

i had an issue with my laptop's wireless card and having internet connection sharing turned on, for some reason it hated it and would always lag bad and lose connetion. Might want to make sure it's not turned on. Aside from that and my previous post I think I'm out of ideas.
