Wireless troubles

I decided to try 802.11b and bought an SMC WAP (2652W) and a 3COM PCMCIA wirless card (3CRWE737A.) When I initially installed the card it worked but the speed was slow and it would cut out a lot. I tried deleting the driver and "removing hardware" in Win2k and reinstalling but now it doesn't work at all. If I put the NIC back in I can log into the WAP. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm guessing it's an issue with the card and not the WAP, I can't download the latest 3COM drivers from the website (links are broken.)
