Wireless throughput for each network ?

What is the wireless througput to expect when you get

150 mbps
300 mbps
450 mbps
600 mbps

?

I know that wireless G, which is rated for 54 mbps, actually gives you 20~24 mbps at best.

It depends on the router/AP, the interferance environment, competing networks and the NICs in each machine/client.

I have very good speeds of around 180Mbps on my 802.11n 2.4Ghz 300Mbps setup, but that is not typical. I have no competing networks and the EM environment is very good, plus an unusually good NIC in my laptop.

A rule of thumb is between 1/3-1/2 the rated speed is what you are likely to get, so long as you don't have much in the way of a noisy environment/competing networks. One or two, so long as your network is significantly stronger (at least 20dB higher signal strength), shouldn't impact your network speeds much, but a bunch, especially close to the same signal strength or higher are going to swamp it.

What laptop wireless card/chipset do you have ?
What is the router ?

Netgear 3500L V1. NIC is an Intel 7260AC in an HP Envy 4t. With the 2230 that had been in the laptop it had been running ~160-165Mbps, the 7260 ups its game to about 170-180Mbps.

This is under Windows 8.1. Not sure about Windows 8 performance, but under Win7SP1 with the 2230, it had been maxing around 110-120Mbps, so I am thinking something in the net stack of Windows 8/8.1 radicially improved the Wifi performance. Nothing else changed other than loading up 8.1 from 7sp1 and performance went from 110-120Mbps up to about 160Mbps, consistent on both.

The interesting thing is, under win7sp1, download was around 110-120Mpbs, but upload was about 130-140Mbps. Under 8.1, both download and upload were around 160Mbps on the 2230. No testing on the 7260 under Windows 7sp1 as I had 8.1 loaded up before I dropped the card in. With it, performance increased to 170-180Mbps download and 165-175Mbps upload.
