Wireless Surround Sound

Hey all. Anybody have an experience with a wireless surround sound system? We are trying to set something up for our living room but there are too many options. We don't want to go overboard and spend $1000 on it but we were looking for $200-400 to spend. Any options?

why wireless other than for aesthetic reasons? You still need to power them, which means there has to be at least one wire to them. Unless you plan to buy a truckload of batteries?

This receives decent reviews for the money:

Wait, that thing powers the rear speakers???

Yeh, 25 watts @ 4ohm or 50 watts @ 8ohms per channel. Which is just fine for a surround speaker.

Depends on what you got on the surrounds I guess. I don't think it will work for me. Each of my surrounds have 2 5.25" and 2 1"

So there is still going to be 2 speaker wires running from the receiver to the 2 speakers I gather? Me think it is kind of useless 🙂

It's all in what you have to work with. If you've got an open living room that has no good wall or border to run wires along and floors that you can't run under then it's a nice alternative.

I don't think people looking at "wireless" options are looking to remove the wires up the wall to the speaker as much as they are "to" the wall from the receiver.
