Hey guys! I recently upgraded my internet connection to the next tier of speed (50mbps/25mpps). The pc that's hard wired into the wireless router (Linksys E3200) is working just fine. But the other pc which is using an Asus PCE-N15 wireless adapter is still at the same speed before I upgraded. When I run the speed test on that one , the most I'm getting is 15mpbs down. When I spoke to Linksys , they wouldn't help me because they only offer free support for a limited time from date of purchase. But they told me its probably something in the wireless settings of the router.....

Can anyone help me please?

Is the other PC connected at G wireless speeds? If so, 15mbps is the max you're going to get regardless of the full Internet speed.

First of all make sure that you have the guest account disabled. I have the same Linksys wireless router and thats the first thing I did. You might have other people getting your internet.

Are you running WEP or WPA/TSK for your security and don't have WMM turned on in the router? That will force it into G mode as well.

How can I tell? I went into my router settings and gave both bands separate SSID's and tried using N wireless on the 2.4. For some reason, the pc with the wireless adapter isnt even picking up the 5GHz network....

First thing borrow get a Device with Wireless that is a capable (like laptop, tablet, Smart Phone), stand near the Router and see what the device says.

In addition explain How you measure the speed.

Is the Wireless computer in the same room with the Router?

There can be a lot of walls and other obstructions in the course of 50 feet. Attenuation is everything, especially with 5GHz. How many walls are you penetrating? Any metal duct work?
