wireless security cameras

I'm looking to purchase a few weatherproof security cameras I can mount on the outside of my house that will send their signal to my computer and record video. I've had a few thefts of lawn decorations and vandalism and my neighbor has had some items stolen from his house, so I'm going to mount these high enough up where they wont get damaged.

They need to have decent optics so I can make out whats going on, and even a motion activated setup would be fine. Have any of you purchased anything similar lately from a store you would recommend? Not really into X10 because they dont seem professional.

I tried a few of these cameras, even one with infra red for night time. I was using it to keep a watch on my horses in the pasture and barn next door. Anyway the cameras came out fuzzy and the further away, the less quality. I decided to go hard wired, yes it is more inconvenient, but the picture is always perfect.
