Just to clarify (for anyone who is still reading) you could buy 2 PE102s or buy 2 XE602s, and you would accomplist pretty much the same thing. With PE102s, you'd be using phoneline to connect the basement and upstairs, with XE602s you'd be using the house's electircal wiring.

As to which is better, homepna or homeplug, i can't say. It might be good to start a separate thread about powerline, although I believe there was one about it not too long ago.

One last wrinkle: hpna 3.0 will supposedly be 10 times faster and will be compatible with hpna 2.0. hpna 3.0 is also at least a year away.
