Just so you know, it has no effect on you internet connection speed. That is capped by your ISP. The 54/108 is the theroitcial max speed of files transferred between computers in your home network.

In my experience, the WRT54GS (SpeedBooster edition) works better than the WRT54G (non-SpeedBooster edition). I don't know if it's the firmware, hardware, or alignment of the planets, but I've had the best luck with the WRT54GS model.

As long as you don't buy a Netgear, you should be fine.

Most of their unit avec over-heating,

and they are not sending back their post-rebates.

ok im confused im an aussie and some are say get the netgear some are sayoing dont get a netgear! OMG which?

i want a cheap, good, reliable wirless NIC and Wirless router! (it has to enable me to share my internet connection and be fast for gaming )(i have cable internet) any suggestion if you think the netgear is bad?

I have installed over 75 of the Netgear RangeMax wireless this year, and not one has come back...the DLinks have been returned about 15% of the time.
I live and work in Australia, so maybe the parts are different wher you are...but the Netgear RangeMax have been perfect in my experience.
