Wireless router...

I'm going to assume my question is retarded in nature but I'm tired so I'm asking anyway...

I've got a cable internet connection with a static IP. At the moment, this connection goes to a computer that uses ICS and sends the signal to a hub that all the computers in my house connect to for internet access.

If I get a wireless router, I can just toss the ICS computer and my hub and have the cable modem go to the router?

Is the Linksys WRT54G a good router?

Yes.

However, wireless has distance limitations, and drops the signal at times.

I have the WRT54GS. I just hardwired my computer tonight (through the wall) to the router.

Anyway, it will do 100Mbps hardwire. It also has a nice user configurable firewall.
