I bought a wireless router for my laptop and it was working good for about 3 days now sometimes the web pages won't load and I have to hit back and click on the link again. The Signal Strength is Excellent all the time, do you think this is becuase of the cheap wireless router or something else?

Exchange it. Sporadic unreliability like that is a good sign of hardware failure. I've had a router fail on me before after a long period of time. Those generic routers aren't worth the plastic they're made with.

Or his signal is conflicting with another's wireless router signal.

The only three signals that do not overlap are 1, 6, and 11. Try changing to each one of those on the router and see if you still have problems.

Also keep in mind it could be your laptop's wireless? I'm assuming you've tested it elsewhere though.

If changing signal channels doesn't help, I'd say it's safe to return it.

I used channel 3 is this ok, seem to be ok for now, my Wireless works fine other places and it was working fine for lke 2 days then it started happening.

I'm going to say it's not ok. In reality it is, but if you're interested in getting the best signal you'll use 1, 6, and 11. Now this will only work if everyone else uses those signals. Hopefully they will.

There's also the side of it that says "yes, you can use channel 3 on your router, but you are hurting someone's experience that uses channel 6, and hurting someone's experience even more that uses channel 1." In reality you're taking twice your share if you use something in between.

I can't really think of a better way to explain this so I'll just draw a picture. Hope it makes sense now:

That's how the channels overlap on the frequency/amplitude graph. So it's best use those that don't overlap with eachother. That's 1, 6, and 11.

i have found that what i do is just do a survery of what is around and what channels they are on and then just select a different channel. my router has been up for 247 days without a reboot or any type of connection problem. i don't know if it is luck or this thought process works. i connect to the router wirelessly with a 2x pda/phones and a laptop and then through the cat5 with my rig in sig, home server and sometimes the laptop.

I looked at Intel ProSet wireless and windows one but I can't seem to find anything about the channels
