wireless printer setup

Senior member
i need to setup a wireless printer for someone.

my only option is to get a wireless print server and connect it to the printer across the shop. here is what i am looking at... will this work? does anyone have experience with setting this kind of thing up?

print server: print server linky

printer will be the samsung ML-1740 laser printer.

the client will be connecting to the printer with his laptop and no other network is present.

thanks for any input..

I am not familiar with this specific Printer server.

Since it has the connect directly to a Laptop Wireless Card you have to look into the Data Sheet or manual and make sure that it can work with Ad-Hoc connection.

I have a D-Link wireless printer server and the same printer you are using. Everything works fine.

THere is an ad-hoc mode so it should work fine. I only got one problem, if my printer is on for a few days I need to restart the printer because the server looses the connection.

i was looking on the website for the print server and it looks like it needs to be connected to another network. i dont need that particular print server, i just need one i can use direct connect or ad-hoc.

liviathan - how do you like the printer? is it pretty hassle free? i am going to look into the dlink route

thanks for the input, its always appreciated
