wireless PPoE connection?

So I have AT&T DSL (uses PPOoE). I'm trying to set up a wireless connection. With Qwest, it was extremely easy b/c there was no need for a user name and password.

So with a router, where would I enter the user name and password? Also, since I need to boot up the desktop to start the DSL connection, what about when it is off?

You'd first connect to the router over a wired connection, log into its web setup page, and configure it with your DSL account, password, wireless parameters, etc.

You'd remove the DSL software from your computer, as it wouldn't be used -- you'd do a standard wired/wireless connection to the router, and the router would take care of the communication to the DSL modem, remembering the password.

The username / password gets stored inside the router. The router will either come with an installation cd that will walk you through the steps - our you can figure out how to access it's web interface and configure it from there.
