Just picked up a netgear mr814v2 at staples for $9.99 AR ,it's a b router. I have a Sager laptop with an internal intersil prism wireless adapter a/g. It sees the router (100 % signal) can tx but does not rx I have tried to log on to the router (http://192.168.0.1) to configuire but I can't even do that. Will this router even work with my laptop?

JackMDS under configuration my wireless has the option of selecting wi-fi B or only B. So I would think it is backward compatible. I will check out your link when I have a little more time, thanks.

Sounds like an encryption issue potentially. I'd default the router and possibly force the correct SSID no the client laptop. No such animal as a G only card that I am aware of. They should all be compatible with 802.11b AP's. Storm's sniffing glue. B and G are both 2.4 Ghz and should be able to talk using CCK at 11 Mb.
