Wireless Newbie

I need some help with a Wireless Network. I'm not a total networking newbie (I use to do it for a living), but that was 5+ years ago, and I can't remember crap.

Anyways.

I want to network 2 computers (possibly a 3rd - not sure yet).

How would I go about doing that? What I need is for either one of the computers to be turned on and connect to the network (both would be connected to the internet), so that one computer doesn't need to be connected, in order to get the 2nd to connect (and vise versa).

Is that possible? Or does one computer have to act as a server so that the other is connected?

I don't have any equipment purchased yet, I wanted to make sure how to go abouts doing ^^ first.

I planned on getting the Linksys WRT54G router. And then of course, either the WUSB54G or the WMP54G adaptor. Would I need an access point in order to do what I need above?

Wired networks were so much easier to fathom.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Yeah, I knew all that stuff before...

So I don't have to have a special setup, so I don't have to have 2 computers on in order have the other computer online ? So the basic wireless network will allow me to have one or the other connect to the internet - and not have to have both?

The last time I wired a network it was with CAT cables, and a fairly huge router/switch - and that was at least 6 years ago (those were the days - not).

Thanks for all your help!
