Wireless networks getting interference?

This is absurd, hopefully someone here can help me. I have 2 wireless networks in my house, both have been working flawlessly for years. Then yesterday they both stopped working. I can see the networks and connect, but the bit rates jump around between 11Mbps and 54Mbps but when I try to connect to the net it's either really slow or doesn't work at all.

At first I thought they had changed channels and were now interfering with eachother but even if I disable one network I have the same issues with the other. I've tried mutiple computers so I know it's not a network card problem. If I'm physically closer to the routers I can actually surf the net like I am now, but if I do a speed test I get around 700kbps vs. the usual 5M I get.

Does anyone have any clues?

Sounds like interference to me. Try channels 1, 6, 11. Also describe your environment - people around you, other 2.4 Ghz sources.

I tried changing the channels around and nothing. My cordless phones are 5.8Ghz and those I've had for a while. There is nothing new in the house. I'm in an end unit townhouse and my next door neighbor doesn't have a wireless network or anything, he shares mine. If I browse around for wireless networks I have about 8-10 in range besides my 2.
