wireless networking with dialup?

I currently have 3 pc's networked by wire. Main pc with dialup ics to a 4 port switch then to 2 client pc's. I just got a notebook and would like to add wireless capabilities for internet use without going crazy. I'm not sure what my options are?? Can I somehow connect the notebook wirelessly to the main pc without changing the wired network to the client pc's or would I have to get a WAP and wireless adapters for the 2 client pc's, thereby going entirely wireless. (BTW all winxp) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to plug an AP to the switch. You can stay partial wired or what ever combo you like,

However Wireless and ICS is not always a working combination.

In such a case switch off ICS and use this instead: AnalogX Proxy.

So I could attach an AP to my switch and install a wireless adapter to my notebook? What probs are there with ics in that type of setup?

Yes, attach the Ap to the switch and install the wireless card in the notebook and it will be just like it is on the switch. I can't comment on the ICS problem JackMDS speaks of so I will let him do that.

1. ICS is Quirky to begin with, combining with Wireless, which is not the Most Stable Connection, it tends to act up.

2. ICS is not flexible in assigning IP numbers it has to be certain numbers in certain order. Some Wireless Hardware do not accommodate this arrangement.

Thanks for the info guys, gives me something to start on. BTW I never really had any problems with ics on any xp or win98 machine.

If you notice I used tentative terms like if, not always, etc.

ICS is a good choice to share DialUp.

It is late and I am too tired to explain the broader issues concerning ICS.
