Hey, why no Microcenter listed in this thread? This month, they have SMC PC-Card 802.11b wireless cards for $10 AR ($30 OTD), and some other brand of 4-port wireless router for $20 AR ($40 OTD). Could make a nice bundle.

While this is a very nice work done by albrandwood I would use it mainly as a frame of reference a lot of the Items can be found for better prices.

Vendor like Best Buy, Staples, Circuit City, and CompUSA, are usually High Priced to begin with. Regular Sales bring them to the regular Discounters Prices. It needs a "Special Sale" to bring them to a level of deal.

As an example you have few Deals offering the 802.11g Super for around $70 for the Router.

Buy.com has a sale for a Router and a PCMCIA Card for a similar price.

Which vendor has the longest range for their wireless pc card?

ie: I have a Dell Trumobile 1150 (rebnadged Orinoco Gold). I can barely get a signal to the starbucks across the street from my cubicle. Every 10 min or so, i lose connection and have to log back into Hotspot. I bought a Belkin, and i get NO signal from my cube.

Any PC cards that have a longer range than the Truemobile 1150?

This is true when dealing with 11Mbps ("B") or 54Mbps ("G") ... but it you want the higher throughputs of the 22Mbps ("B") or 108Mbps ("G") you have to stick with same manufacturer, because they do these tricks differently... (ie, NetGear 108Mbps don't work @ 108Mbps with DLink 108Mbps equipment ... they will work at 54Mbps though)

I also have the 1150. I picked it because of amount of good feedback and reviews related to the Agere/Orinoco cards. One of the best parts of these cards is the ability to add an external antenna via the plug on the end. The benefits depend on what you plug in. The uber geek will be sporting a Dish Cantenna. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions when folks spot that hanging off your cube.

i got the trendnet 802.11b pccard for $12. also doesnt have the range of the orinco. i cant get any signal at my desk. but i think the software is WAY better than belkin.
 
Would you consider adding either print servers or routers with print servers to this list?

I know there are a lot of people who want to buy a print server based on all the posts.
