Wireless Networking HELP!!!

My wireless signal is really weak up on my second floor.

I have a cable modem located in the basement hooked up to a Dlink 614+ wireless router. My house is wired with CAT5e and have four hard wired network locations throughout the house.

I have purchased another wireless router Dlink DIR 615 wireless router and have hooked it up to one of the network locations (wall outlet) in my house. When I hook the computer up directly to the wall outlet I can access the internet. When I hook up the DIR 615 router to the wall outlet and run a cable from the router to my computer there is no internet.

Utimately I want to broadcast the wireless signal from the second floor where we tend to use the wireless the most.

I have tried hooking the DIR 615 router to the internet connection in the basement and I everything works, wall outlets and wireless. However the wireless signal is really weak still.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks
