im not very good with anything wireless. i had to move my cable moden up stairs an set up my comp wirelessly with a linksys802.11g WRT54G and welps its slow as hell and drops my connection every once in a while. should i just buy a new one or is there one with better range n signal? I heard theres some kinda new thing called pre-n? one other question can i use a linksys desktopwireless card with a d-link or belkin wireless router?

I've had the same sort of troubles with linksys routers before, try upgrading the firmware and if that doesn't work then dump it and go for another brand. All wireless cards should work irrespective of the brand.
