Under the best of conditions your only going to get about 500-600 KB file transfers with a .11b WLAN. You say "only" 50 feet. If you have multiple obstructions in that path 50 feet could be VERY significant. But let's just say you get a nice average 500KB/s. That's one megabyte every two seconds, or 30 MB a minute. Frankly I highly doubt your getting 500KB at 50 feet and wireless AP/Clients don't handle large files extremely well so I could see your 500MB file(s) taking 20 minutes or more. Your not going to transfer that much data in 5 minutes as someone posted, I can assure you of that.
