wireless network cuts out randomly

I have a small wireless network with 2 computers running on it. One of the computers (just one) has problems staying connected. When I start up the computer, its fine, but it will lose its connection after about 20 minutes, sometimes 30 or 40 and so on, but it will always eventually lose its connection and the only way to reconnect is to restart the computer. If I try and reconnect manually, the computer wont even see the network. im using a gigabit PCI network card and an SBC 2wire DSL gateway/modem.

bump. anyone have an idea? The other computer never loses connection. Ive set this computer up just the same as the one thats working fine and I cant figure out why I keep losing connection.

the only things I can suggest are the normal ones...

update driver
change channel on AP to 1, 6, 11
test with client and AP in same room
if you have "ears" on your AP have both of them pointing straight up
possibly power settings on the laptop - stay plugged in

Im still having this problem. i made a few changes and gave the computer that was having problems its own IP, (it was on DHCP before) and that seemd to fix the problem for a little while, but its still disconnecting. i have the most current drier, the network is running on channel 6. I cant figure out whats going on, Im starting to think maybe the network card is bad.

Try to disable all the other network card that is not in use.

Change the channel to 11. How far away are you from the router? Is it a signal strength issue?

It could be that your wireless adapter is wimpy, doesn't have the range you need.

The wireless network card is the only network card installed and running on this computer. I dont think its a signal strengh issue because when it is connected, the signal is between 90-100%. The router is just int he next room, maybe 15 feet at most throgh the wall.

Most times wireless problems are from signal strength/quality. changing channels to 1, 6 or 11 fixes 99% of these kinds of problems.
