:)

I have a Linksys WRT54g router setup on a corner of the home which is serving Desktop PC 1 (wired), Desktop PC 2 (wireless), a NAS and a VOIP Phone. I also have 2 laptops, Wii and a Media extender working wireless in the other corner of the home on the same router; i bought a WNR834bv2 to extend the internet and file/media sharing to the second corner.

My question is should i connect WRT54G (Wireless G) on the modem and connect WNR834bv2 (Wireless N) on WRT54G or vice versa.

Thanks in advance

is the extender dual band? if not it won't make any difference, you won't get N speeds with G devices on the same band. If you have ddwrt on the WRT, keep that as the main router.

edit: they both support ddwrt, depends on which version of the WRT you have, find out. the Netgear has 16MB ram and 240mhz npu. Get those stats for the WRT and if you have better stats, keep it as main, otherwise use the Netgear.
