Wireless Mouse -- for gaming?

Seems to depend on your environment a lot.

When I use to use a wireless gaming mouse, at home the signal would drop for a second or whatever then at work it wouldn't be a problem.

But the main reason I don't use one, batteries. I couldn't tell you the number of times the mouse died when I was doing something and having to bust out the wired mouse cause they other one had to recharge. That alone made me sell the wireless and stick to wired.

I've been using my mx1000 for years and managed fine with it. I don't really know if going to a good wired mouse would help any. One advantage would be that wired mice are often much lighter. Batteries don't bother me too much as I just have to remember to charge it every 1-2weeks, and I usually just let it sit in there overnight then.

Love my G7. I bought a G9 a while ago and have yet to open the box.

Takes only seconds to switch batteries but you really only need to remember to put a new one in before you start gaming.

Nope wired is best for gaming. If you can be bothered to get batteries for the thing etc then go for it but tbh i just dont let my MX518's cable snag and its as good as any wireless mouse.

I disagree completely, the new Sidewinder X8 is rechargeable and is lighter and way more precise in gaming, can be used in wireless or wired mode, it's a must for gamers.

When it comes to wired products, definitely the only thing I can recommend a gamer should have is a wired LAN connection, wireless LAN is a no go for accurate fragging.

Heh "way more precise" dunno about you but i can dominate people with any mouse as long as it has at least 3 buttons and a scroll wheel. Wireless mice are just extra cost and an extra chore, the real precision comes from the gamers hand and reflexes.

I like wireless ones but its really just a personal choice, less wire issues to deal with. Also, Input lag for any good wireless mouse should seem similar to a wired one.

Well I don't play competetively or anything, but I've never had any problems with my wireless mice. Used to be on a G7 and now I'm on a Razer Mamba and I really like it.

i got the Mamba, has some lag if it sits for more than a few seconds, takes too long to wake up. but probably as accurate as one could hope for from wireless

I was real happy with my G7 for about 3 years. My only complaint about it was that it only had one side button.

Never noticed any lag between it and my G5.

Would love to see a wireless version of the G500 though (with all 3 side buttons).

Nope, thats not true at all.....
A wireless mouse that is designed for gaming is 1000% better than any wired mouse!
