This unit is not bad. It dropped in price due to the $20 coupon. I set one up in my living room and all my rooms with the webcam software. It even has motion sensor so my webcam program can e-mail me whenever it senses motion. Great for the nanny!

I have this cam (bought it from geeks.com awhile ago)

here are my thoughts on it

The Bads
-it is 900mhz
-it uses an ANALOG dial to "tune it in"
-inside it has a hard time with grainy-ness (because it is 900mhz)
-mono sound

The Goods
-It can easily be powered by battery or AC!
-Camera is MOTHERFVCKING TINY
-Easy to hook up
-mono sound (I know that was also a bad, but audio along with video in such a small package is pretty cool)

I while back...i think it got posted on anandtech, but some guy (in the uk I believe) had a webcam hooked up to his 'nix box with various uploading scripts. Anyway, his comp got stolen but it was able to upload pictures of the guy first; long story short, they ended up catching him.

What software did you use for this? And do you have some sort of multiple video input card on your computer?

Huh? Am I missing something? This is an ANALOG camera that connects to a television. The only way to have it e-mail you is to use a frame-grabber card and supply your own software.
 
38.84 shipped for me... would be really neat to have this but I think I need a little more convincing. I will think about all the times I could have caught people breaking into my car and stealing my mail and other things...
 
The geeks one is actually 28 dollars now.. $36.17 shipped to me...


It says it lasts 8 hours on batteries.

I bought the one from computergeeks a while ago (except it was not the one with the microphone mentioned above) The battery lasted about an hour or so. And I don't know about the women's bathrooms in your area, but in the ones around here, the power outlets are in a pretty consipcuous spot, thus negating the benefits of a wireless camera.

The camera mentioned in this hot deal from intelspy.com has a description that reads "9V DC, 150mA (up to 8 hours on 9V batt)"

um, I hate "up to" or "As much as"

the 1 hour that mine lasts falls into the vague category of "up to 8 hours" oh, well, I guess I'll give it a try.

I just ordered one, but couldn't resist. I had to think of something fun to do with my new camera....so I ordered one of the tanks. I'm going to have fun sitting safely at my desk while I make the tank chase coworkers and shoot them in the arse. Of course, it's probably going to mean that I wasted my money when the break my new toys, but it will have been worth it. 😛

Hey Scarpozzi, can you tell us how far the BB bullets go or how painfull. This is probably what I need to shoot some neighbor cats dumping thier poo on our back yard. My wife doesn't like me to get the BB gun says its bad influence for my son.
