I'm in the market for a new WiFi PC Card wireless network card. I want a card that has an antenna that can be extended away from my body so that I don't absorb as much radiation. Does anyone have any comments on the 3Com® 11 Mbps Wireless LAN PC Card with XJACK® Antenna. 3 COM wireless card link This appears to have an extendable antenna. Would this be what I am looking for? How far does the antenna extend? Is the 40bit encryption enough? Thanks for the help.

Why would having the antenna away from you make any difference... it's not like the radio signals are bad for your health. You can sit with your mouth open in front of the transmitter all day for the rest of your life and you'll be fine and dandy!

Just in case you don't know! Right now and every second thereafter, RF's are all over you! With the advent of wireless phones, Remote Control, Radio, TV, Satellite, etc. . .. RF is here to stay. As for the original question, I like LinkSys Wireless router and Nics.
