I'm trying to set up a wireless LAN. Anyone have any good recommendations on where I can find more information about wireless lans, and, who (in your opinion) makes the best?

The LAN has to be wireless. Has to go about 300 feet with about several walls in-between. And, I'm not extremely picky about the speed. I'm more concerned with range rather then speed. Also, has to be PC compatible, and must be able to be connected to an existing wired network. I also can't place any antennas outside of the building. (I'm trying to reach from one building, to another across the street) This is probably a tough nut to crack. (At least at a resonable price without any licence requirements)

Any help appreciated.
Thanx.

For that distance, throu walls you may want to consider running fiber between the two buildings <if a business> if not, try www.breezecom.com any 802.11 wireless ethernet should work, however the distance is your biggest issue <outside with the interference, plus throu walls> so directional antennas may suit your needs.

Wireless routers these days should be able to make that distance even with walls. Speed might be a little slow. You're better off wiring in this situation though. Linksys makes a wireless gateway i believe.
