wireless LAN winxp lockup

smc wireless lan has been nothing but trouble on my two win xp machines. state of the art hardware and software and no f---ing internet. and for a while no printer either!

i'm thinking of trashing the whole wireless idea and just settling for ancient WIRE tech. all suggestions welcome.

if it's locking up...8 out 10 times, it's gonna be an IRQ conflict issue...check your IRQs....it's a good chance there's some conflict (given that your AP is installed correctly and you have all the proper drivers for the card.)

If it's your SMC router locking up with WinXP machines using it, you need to update to the latest router firmware--that fixes it.

i'm not much at all on networks. these are standard winxp pentium machines with tons of ram. the internet is a bellsouth dsl. i think the software is 3com, but i'll have to double check. actually they are my kids machines. now to update on the firmware. i guess the company site has all the details for that. i was at wits end. thanks for your patience guys.
