Also bule tooth has a reasonable range, we got a mouse going about 25 feet away at a LAN party, dunno about the keyboard, i expect about the same though.

there is another version of the gyration mouse (keyboard the same..actually, the keyboard is really neat...very light, very small, yet full functioned...pefect size to leave on the couch or a table...)

costs a little less, has the gyro mouse (you can use it in ,=mid air), without the "remote control" buttons

linky

i'm building a HTPC system myself, and the gyration keyboard is definitley going to be the one i get...i'm not sure if i want the gyration mouse along, or the combo mouse/remote unit...

here's a review of the item

linky

linky for refurbished model for <$80

Word of warning on the Gyration stuff. I bought both the keyboard and mouse shortly after they were released. Both the keyboard and mouse have caused my hands a lot of cramping and pain due to their small size.

Paint has come off certain keys in my keyboard and unless they fixed the NumLock problem, that's gonna be a pain as well. The one I have, you need to enable NumLock and then hold down the Function (Fn) key while pressing any of the numlock keys. This makes it impossible to use the keys during games and very annoying in general use.

The mouse in air feature is simply a novelty and quite frankly uses far too much battery power while in the air to be considered useful. The battery drains extremely fast. About a year after I purchased the mouse I started getting even weirder problems. The signal from the mouse would stick constantly until the mouse was lifted up into the air. It would cause the whole screen to spin in games and would make it unusable for general computer use. The precision isn't really great also. Very hard to aim a sniper in a game accurately with this mouse. Hope this review helps you.

*EDIT* One last problem I forgot to mention was in regards to charging the mouse. Half the time when I drop the mouse on the charger, the contacts don't actually connect and half the time the mouse doesn't charge. You might have to drop it down into the charger 3 or 4 times sometimes before it'll actually start charging. The mouse really should be charged daily unless you want to run out of battery power the next day while in the middle of working on something on your computer.
