Wireless keeps dropping

I have a cable modem attached to a wireless router. The hard wire connection from the router to my decides never drops. However, the wireless signal will cut out for around 30-40 seconds at least 30 times a day (makes online games impossible). I've tried multiple laptops with multiple operating systems, and even my cellphone loses wifi. At this point I suspect just a crappy router (DLink DIR-628, with firmware update) but maybe there's a setting I could change?

I just switched the router over to channel 11 in case it's being caused my interference (not by anything I own, but maybe a neighbour).

Any suggestions?

See sticky. Interference plagues wireless. Try channels 1, 6, 11 to see what works best and orient antennas properly.

Channels 1, 6, and 11 are the only three channels that don't overlap with each other. If, for example, your neighbor is using channel 6 and you use channel 4, there will be some overlap of the signal causing interference (slower connection and possible disconnects). However, if your neighbor is using channel 6 and you use channel 1 or 11, there won't be any overlap of frequencies so you're more likely to get a better signal.
