I moved my computer into another room (private study!), but had to switch over to wireless. I went from 1.5mbps to 457kbps

Yeah actually it's kind of far away. 802.11a is much, much closer, as close you can get!
Btw something is wrong, you should get 20Mbps actual x-fer on 802.11g.

In all honesty I am probably going to end up attempting to get the wired working by the end of the week. I do alot of big file transfering, and I need that 100mb/s. but we will see. I fiddled with the antennas a bit and got the signal strength up to 64%, which is netting me just under 1mb/s.
