Wireless Internet Not Working, Help

Hi, We have a wireless router at the house here. It is a Linksys G router and I went out and bought a Linksys USB card for it. Problem is, is that I installed the card, it says it is connected with a very good signal but when I try to use the internet It does not work. From the looks of it I would guess it sends out a quick signal of the requested webpage but doesn't get anything back in the feed. I say this because if for example I type in anandtech.com the connection status icon in the lower right corner flashes breifly but then I get the error that the page couldn't be found.

One of my roommates has a notebook with wirless connection and his internet works fine.

Any ideas what's wrong or how I can get my internet working?

Thank You

Assuming that your Hardware is correctly configured and that you can connect to the Internet using wired computer.

Seeing signal in the Wireless configuration application or reading somewhere in the system that you are connected does not mean that you actually have a functional Wireless Network.

A simple way to ascertain that you have a connection is to try to use the Internet Browser in a Wireless Client computer and find out if you can connect to the Router's (Access Point) Menus (see your hardware manual for the Router's IP Address, the login name and the password).

If you can not connect to the Router this might help.
