Wireless Internet Help!!

I'm gettin a new computer for Christmas and I have a modem and stuff downstairs. I'm putting this in my room so I will need everything to hook Internet from downstairs to here. I'm on a tight budget.

Question: Recomend me good equiment to do this on a tight budget.

check fs/ft forums for wireless routers/adaptors/etc. They usually go for way cheaper than regular price, esp the B ones.

All i really need to know is what to buy to acomplish this ex. router, modem, pci card?

I already have 10/100/1000GB lan on my MSI K8N-Neo4/SLI.
The computer downstairs has a modem so if I could use that?

I dont know where the access point is but I have two computers and one of them has this?

Do I just get a router and one of those or do I do a completely new connection. Also I know nothing about wireless so I wouldn't know how to network one of those unless it detects by default.

you need a wireless network router connected to your modem, then you need a wireless adapter, I'd recommend a USB device for 40 bucks, 54g connection.
Get the same brand, like Linksys Router and Linksys adapter, and the like, that way you are guaranteed more compatibility.

router and adapter is all you need, unless you wanna run cords to your mother's room, which in turn, will probably cause head aches for your mother.
