Wireless internet browsing...

Hi,

I've managed to hook up (via my centrino laptop) to the wireless network at my university. It says that it's "connected" and even shows the reception as "very good". However, I'm not able to browse the internet or access any of the network services (can't even access the internal sites).

I'm jus wondering how I can get my browser to connect using the wireless connection rather than using "dial-up" which is what I use when I'm at home.

Thanks.

Contact your campus IT department. Likely they need to add your MAC address so you can authenticate. You might also need to authenticate to a radius server or other security management device.

Hmm....it does ask for authentication and I managed to login without too much of a prob. I think my problem is...how do i get the wireless connection to be the connection to be used when connecting to the internet?

It's a similar case with a computer having two network cards and both having separate connections to the internet. How does the browser know which network card to use?

My College makes you register your device before you can use the wireless network, you will get a connection and everything, but none of the services will work...
