Wireless Instability

I'm wondering if there is anyway I can make my wireless connection more stable. I am using cheapo hardware (Belkin Router and Gigafast USB adapter). The adapter and the router are only about 15 feet apart yet the wireless connection status goes from 3 bars to no signal all the time (even as I write this message). Can someone recommend which part to replace a brand that's cheap and reliable?

Sounds more like you might be getting interference if they are that close. Possible sources of interference in particular are Cordless phones, Microwaves and bluetooth devices or devices that work in the 2.4GHz radio range. Check to see if you are possibly someone nearby has anything like this and try and move it away. or move your router. A small move can make a big difference as the interference follows an inverse square law.
