Hey everyone, a friend and I are starting to conceptualize a computer when we hit one road block: my friend doesn't have a broadband connection anywhere near her room.

From there we decided we'd make her computer wireless, however I don't know how to do that. So when I did a little bit of searching, my understanding is that Wireless Network Adapters are needed to make a desktop wireless. Other than that there is also Wireless Access Points.

Can anyone recommend any wireless network cards that will be suitable for gaming, or if wireless access points are better?

Thanks everyone

You need to make sure the wireless network is hers, or being offered by the place she lives at. If not, there would most likely be a password preventing her from access.

Once that is cleared up, a $20-40 wireless adapter should be all she need.

By "broadband connection" I meant wired connection. So yes it's her network.

Thanks a lot for your input.
