Wireless Headphones, Good Deals?

If you live near a Sony outlet, you can just walk-in to their store and grap one for $39.99 also. Usually, they've a couple selection in the store.
They Sony Outlet I go to is the one in Wrentham in MA.

No, I've an Audiobahn branded wireless headphone that I bought last year black friday at Circuit City.
I'm happy with mine.

Not sure about the Sony or the other one you've in the link. Maybe try to google some information for it. 🙂

Thanks OP, I ordered the sennheiser.

The RS45's are good. I've tried them out before at a friend's house.

Ok....

This is a the Hot Deals forum... not the "should I get these?" forum.

These are not hot deals as they are refurb..... also, what condition is the refurb? are the batteries shot? Ear cuffs torn/worn? What model year is the unit?

But if yer gonna buy.......

Definetly do not get the Sony Unit.... only found a few reviews and they're mostly bad.

The Seenheiser's seem better, but have mixed reviews...usually range is the biggest...expect 10-25ft typical range without excessive hissing or crackling.

What is a Hot Deal? Here are a few examples:
A discount coupon on a vendor's site.

Info about a good "price match + rebate" situation.

Links to store ads and reposts of store ads, especially if they contain a really great deal. You might include a "heads up" about the specific deal in the thread title and/or your post.

Any nice premium deals, as long as those taking advantage are in the intended group. If a company wants to survey Senior Network Administrators, or if they offer a discount to retail sales employees, and you are in the tenth grade, you probably do not qualify. It is a good idea to point out such limitations in your post.

not to crap on this thread or anything...
but i find these pos.

i tried a refurbished one... (sony)
and they generate lots of high frequency static.
sure you can still hear sound in midst of the static...
but definately not worth the money.
don't expect it to sound like your wired headset.

i generally avoid sony products... 'cause they tend to put these types of products out.
as for other brands... i'm still interested.

Well, sure this may not be *HOT* but I can tell you that the sennheiser are a great set of wireless headphones. At least, I can attest to them working very well at the desk where the receiver should be located. And yes, these are refurbs, but a new set is hard to find for less than $100. However, the refurbs come with a 2 year warranty. Maybe I'll be fortunate enough that I never have to use it. If these turn out to be a lemon, I'll post back. But still, thanks to the OP because I was trying to find this set. Great for gaming.

Thing I don't like about Senn wireless is the proprietary BA151 battery it uses. They run $18 + s/h and you need an extra to be charging while using one since they take a while to charge. My first battery lasted only about one year of occasional use.

I like the wireless and we have two of them, one is a RCA, and the other is a neat variation by Jensen that has a receiver the size of a pack of cards that you plug your own headphones into. My wife prefers earbuds, so this second one works well for her.

I have an Audiobahn (RF) and RCA (IR) that I got on Black Friday last year ($20 each AR). They both work OK, but there are caveats:
pro: IR is standard, even works with the car VCR system
con: range is quite limited, no more than 10 ft and must have no obstacles between transmitter and headphones; simple thing such as turning head sideways might result in static

pro: RF has better range and allows for obstacles between transmitter and headphones
con: can't use with the car VCR, must turn up the volume A LOT to hear stuff (maybe that's just me)

oh well, they were definitely worth it for that price 😀

Finally ordered 'em last week and got them yesterday...

The refurb had two battery packs in 'em.... sweet....
I guess they didn't check the additional battery charger compartment on the base unit on this refurb and replaced the battery on the headphone.....

This deal got a whole lot sweater....

still waiting for 'em to charge up.... they look and feel nice....

i'm so excited

I found my cordless mouse, keyboard and phone all ran interference with the audio quality of the headphones. So much so that I'm cursed with using a wired setup...anybody else have this?

If you guys want some really good wireless headphones, I highly recommend the Pioneer SE-DIR800c.

Yes, they cost $300, but they are well worth it. They use Dolby Headphone for surround, and the transmitter decodes DD/DTS. I now use these more than my surround setup.

Any deals on good wireless headphones, that might be in the $100-150 range?. I'm looking for some for a friend (whos about to probably pay a lot for some), so if anyone knows of any deals on some, let me know.

Hey guys, the Sennheiser refurbs are marked down even more now. Just go to ecost.com and do a search on Sennheiser rs45 and you will see the refurbs at $43.99 while the new new ones are $129.

I opened mine on Christams and it contained the wrong power adapter. So the following Monday I called ecost who then gave me Sennheiser's phone number. I called Sennheiser and they sent me the right power adapter, no problem. Just got it last night so my headset is still charging (requires 24 hours of charge according to the instructions).

Also, I got 2 batteries with it as well. The set appears to be in good condition. Just a minor flaw in one of foam ear peices in that it is slightly puffed out (not completely flush). No big deal at all since the foam is covered in a cloth that binds it to the headset. Has no effect on comfort level.
