Wireless gaming headset?

I have been looking all night for some wireless gaming headsets that are STEREO 100%. Bluetooth would be fine..

But I can't seem to find anything.

Anyone know if these things even exist?

Reason I need wireless is that my cats LOVE to eat cords, and for some reason, headphone cords specifically. Ive been through like 4 pairs in the last year :\
 
I wouldn't want to mess with batteries, latency, or poor sound quality that seems inevitable of such a product if it actually exists. If you're just using it for voice coms, that's a whole different story and there are tons of options there.
 
Bump - I'm interested too...and I really don't want to have to spend $300 on a package (Astro package linked above)...I mean..come on now......

for $90, you can get a product that has "gaming" in the name, "oooOOoh", but a regular USB wireless adapter setup. Still with an 8-hour battery-life, though....

Alternatively, you could just pay $8 for some pepper spray, and cover the cable in it....a lot cheaper that way.

well there certainly seem to be a lot more options now, but I love the pepper spray option, lol

also, kwo, that Astro A40 solution isn't wireless, its essentially an audiophile grade gaming headset.
 
You know I just used my Motorola H500, and now my Plantronics Voyager 520 via bluetooth and it gives me absolutely no issue. And what's this crap about lag 😵
 
Bluetooth headsets are fine for voice comms, I use one myself but it doesn't sound like that's what the OP is looking for.

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset
Can check that out, I haven't tried it myself, but I'm typically very happy with any Logitech products I own or use. Stereo for gaming, wirless USB and built-in mic for voice chat, at a reasonable price.

I see these little "Bluetooth" USB adapters all over.

Hypothetically speaking (😉), let's say someone wants to use a typical bluetooth "over-the-ear" headset to listen and play an online game like LOTRo, but aren't really concerned with stereo sound - more interested in chatting with fellow party members.

Is it as simple as just getting one of these Bluetooth USB adapters, or is there a software package that is also needed to be able to listen and talk through the in-game chat server while playing?

The BT drivers are provided and supported by Microsoft, part of their USB driver initiative to clean up driver support. After that it functions like any other USB audio device, where you can select it from the control panel and various software programs can also choose which device.

As for LOTRO, most Blue Tooth headsets (single-ear, primarily meant for phone) aren't well suited to play game sounds and that'll probably kill your battery much faster also. They're great for just voice comms though and in the case of LOTRO, you can actually select the BT headset specifically for voice chat, both mic and voice output while keeping game sounds through your speakers or primary sound device.

If you wanted both game sounds and voice chat from a pair of headphones, I'd look into something like the headset I linked above, or a USB wired version of the same as they'll handle the in-game audio much better.
