Anyone have any experience with the mini wireless gamecube controllers? Can't seem to find any full size ones around anymore and looking at possibly picking these up.

The mini wireless one I have sucks compared to the Wavebird. Are they still available directly from Nintendo?

i just ordered one in light of ign's positive review. otherwise, i would just pick up a used wavebird or a mini gamestop branded controller.

Interesting. From first view one thing I like is that they reverse the left side joypad and stick.

They discontinues the wavebird? I bought mine a couple of months back and I swear I've seen them in stores recently. I think I'm one of the few people who really liked like the GC controller design. The button layout was great for and design were great for the GC games I played. It does suck for anything other than gamecube games though.

I loved the Gamecube controller, and I've always defended the button layout. Nearly every game out there uses one or two buttons more than than the others. So they make the primary button bigger and put it in the middle, the secondary button a little smaller than that and put it off to the side, and the two buttons that you don't use nearly as much on the other side. I also liked that the buttons had different shapes, it helped me make the connection between the button and the action in my brain. Kind of like the SNES controller with the two concave and two convex buttons. Great controller. Only things I would change are replacing the analog sticks with the Xbox sticks and the triggers with the Xbox triggers.
