Wireless extension?

Is there such thing as a wireless receiver on a Ethernet cable? Like a cable I can run from the basement to outside to receive wireless network signals? Not sure even where to start looking for such a thing. Thanks 🙂

you are looking for a wireless bridge. There are commercial ones available (I have used Smartbridges (crappy) and tranzio) for long range, and some small, shorter range ones, such as the console gaming adapters.

The Linksys WRT54GL and Buffalo WHR-G54S, among others, can do this with DD-WRT firmware running in "client mode", or "client bridge mode".
