For some reason this thing hits me like the 1950's "Hey kids, DDT is completly HARMLESS !"

then here come the 70's and a collective "Oh S#!t " arises from the scientific community.

So what I see is that this is gonna cause some sort of genetic blah blah blah or birth blah blah blah.

Just and FYI thing, dont microwaves cook things ? Lets just say for the sake of arguement, powersurge....
Ill stick with my wires (and wireless internet) thank you muchly.

Microwaves directed at a satellite would also fry its electronics. Try putting a CD in the microwave. Or fly a plane too close to an Aegis missile cruiser putting out full power on the main radar panels. Same thing happens in both circumstances: it sizzles.

Aegis missile cruisers are common houshould appliances nowadays, will try that in a sec. :D

Wouldn't a cloudy sky render the satellite/surface energy transfer useless? Ofc they could build the receiver in a desert but then it would be situated way far from consumer areas.
Of course I can be wrong, don't know if the transfer would be affected at all.

Depends on the frequency. Most materials (excluding metals) are more or less transparent to microwave frequencies which is why you can use a mobile phone inside a house. I don't think clouds (water vapour) would block anything.

Doesn't really interfere with GPS, and that's in the 1 GHz range I believe.
