wireless dropping out

ok for starters i haev a Lenovo n100 3000 w/ an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG wireless card. sometimes randomly my internet will drop out where my desktop using a usb wireless will stay connected, i tried reinstalling drivers, and using a roll back driver but i get the same issue.

do you think having low hard drive space could effect this?

at last resort i will probably reformat because i need to anyway, but id rather now

thanks for help in advance

You must have a small hdd to be running out of space, unless you're storing huge music or graphic files. I've usually free up a lot of space by saving to a second internal hdd. burning DVDs or a external USB.

As to why your wireless on your laptop is disconnecting, I think it to be another problem.
Your wireless is built-in like my Dell, so that maybe where the problems lie.
Can't tell from afar, but you may want to chat with IBM.

i chatted and all the recommended was reinstalling drivers and if that doesnt help reformat

its a 100gb hard drive that i have alot of games on as well as video editing files though the final products are all stored on an external(which is running out of room)

The reformat sounds extreme. How about a repair install and if that doesn't work, Its your move.
I keep a cloned drive standing by, just in case.
I use my lappy for video editing too, but my work goes into my media bay hdd. I have another media bay hdd for faster swapout when more storage is needed.
I get hdd pulls for extra storage (7200RPM, 8MB) whereever available.

id buy extra external drives or even webspace and bandwith but im tight on cash, i think i figured out the problem so far so good

Are you sure that the wireless signal you are receiving is strong enough to sustain the connection? Have you tried moving the Lenovo to a different location or re-orienting the antenna?

A problem like that drove me to replace the Intel 2200BG card in my T43 with an Atheros model, which has worked almost flawlessly. A lot of people had similar problems with the 2200BG, and although I gather that the situation has improved with Intel's newer wireless cards, I've still heard of connection dropout problems like the one you describe. I suspect that the problem lies in your wireless card, not your hard drive or anything else, especially since you say that you don't experience these problems with a different USB wireless card.
